The Cw 2017 Netflix Preview

Update: Netflix has renewed both of these series mentioned below hinting at a technical glitch. One Tree Hill is still likely going to be removed though.

The CW and Netflix have had a long-standing relationship (at least in the US) for several years now, and that was strengthened in 2017 with a brand new deal which would mean Netflix users get some awesome goodies from The CW going forward. The deal details a new arrangement that would bring new seasons of your favorite CW shows a week after they air their finale on The CW.

Below we’ve listed all of your favorite CW shows and when they’ll likely get their release date on Netflix.

The CW deal isn’t the only deal which you should be looking forward to. Netflix also will be entering into another year with Disney bringing new Disney, Star Wars and Marvel movies to the service.

The Vampire Diaries (Season 8)

Estimated Netflix arrival: April/May 2017

The Vampire Diaries Netflix 2017

The final season is currently airing on The CW which is set to wave goodbye to its fans its built up over the past eight years. It’s not all bad news though as its spinoff The Originals is set to continue well into the future, and Supernatural is also a great substitute.

Supernatural (Season 12)

Estimated Netflix arrival: May/June 2017

Supernatural Netflix 2017

For me, this is The CW’s biggest success and probably the reason most of you are on this article right now. The series which has now been on our screens for over a decade follows two brothers who hunt down all types of supernatural beings following in their father’s footsteps. Every season seems to beat the previous one, and we’re stoked to see the

Supergirl (Season 2)

Estimated Netflix arrival: April/May 2017

Supergirl Season 2 Netflix

Supergirl moved over to The CW from CBS for season 2 after it had decided it was far better suited on the channel. That’s cool with us because otherwise, we’re not sure we’d have seen it come to Netflix in the first place. The second season looks to ramp up the solid foundation set by the first season and be involved with a lot more crossovers with the other DC licenses The CW owns.

Jane the Virgin (Season 3)

Estimated Netflix arrival: May 2017/June 2017

Jane The Virgin Season 4

Jane the Virgin made a dramatic shift in season two with Jane officially losing her virginity but is still now challenged to raise her accidental child. The show has been the winner of multiple awards in the last few years and opens The CW up to a brand new audience away from the superhero audience.

DC Legends of Tomorrow (Season 2)

Estimated Netflix arrival: April/May 2017

Dc Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Netflix

DC Legends of Tomorrow, like Supergirl, had its debut a year ago now and is finding its feet as a standalone series. It puts together a team of superheroes fighting against the Time Masters. It’s visually stunning but unfortunately doesn’t seem to have found the same sort of audience as the other DC shows which is a shame.

Crazy Ex-girlfriend (Season 2)

Estimated Netflix arrival: March/April 2017

Crazy Ex Girlfriend New Season

In Netflix UK, they’ve been getting weekly drops of season 2 of Crazy Ex-girlfriend but thanks to the deal, we won’t have to wait as long for the second season to come to Netflix US. The musical comedy stars Rachel Bloom who plays the role of a crazy girlfriend who quits her job and flees to LA to chase down her ex.

The Flash (Season 3)

Estimated Netflix arrival: May/June 2017

The Flash Season 3 Netflix

Blink and you’ll miss him. Arguably The Flash is the best DC show that The CW is currently airing at the moment thanks to its impressive visuals, charismatic lead or the brilliant crossovers. Whichever is your reason for coming back, we’re happy to see The Flash arriving earlier than normal on Netflix.

Arrow (Season 5)

Estimated Netflix arrival: June 2017

Arrow Netflix 2017

Arrow is the currently the longest running CW show that’s still on The CW. Now in season 5 the series pioneered a shift of brand new DC shows and likely even helped Marvel too. The series features a billionaire playboy who under the cover of darkness uses his bow and arrow to fight crime.
