Isekai anime has exploded in popularity and number over the past decade. From action adventure to comedy and romance, it takes something special to stand out, and The Rising of the Shield Hero is one of the best Isekai anime available.
Summoned to a parallel world where he is destined to be one of four heroes to save the world, Naofumi Iwatani is gifted the Legendary Shield. But after he is betrayed and accused of a crime he didn’t commit, he is shunned by his fellow heroes, the nobility, and even peasants. Starting from nothing, Naofumi befriends a young demi-human, Raphtalia, and Filo, a bird-like monster that hatches from an egg.
