Netflix Originals Coming to Netflix in December 2017

Netflix will be rounding out 2017 in the best way it knows, with lots and lots of Netflix Originals. We’ll be finishing the year with a high spending time with the Queen in Netflix’s biggest budget series to date, be kicking ass with Will Smith in Netflix’s biggest blockbuster movie to date as well as kicking back at The Ranch.

Here’s a look at the Netflix Originals coming to Netflix in December 2017.

Note: These will release on Netflix globally unless stated overwise. 


Dark (Season 1)

Release Date: December 1st

Netflix has in December its first big German series. Spoken in German throughout, the new supernatural thriller series focuses on a missing child and the four families that set out for the truth of what happened to him. It joins some other great thriller titles that have come to Netflix this year like Mindhunter, 1922 and more. 10 episodes are scheduled for December 1st at an hour long each.


Easy (Season 2)

Release Date: December 1st

Easy Season

Easy may have flown under your radar when it releases last year on Netflix but allow season 2 to be your entry point if you’re not quite familiar. The series, created by Joe Swanberg is an anthology series where each episode starts with a new scenario. It featured the talents of Orlando Bloom, Malin Akerman, Marc Maron, Dave Franco and much more throughout its first season. The series main focus is relationships and more specifically, sex.


The Crown (Season 2)

Release Date: December 8th

The Crown Season

Netflix’s biggest budgeted show is back this December for its second season. Although renewed up to season 4 currently, season 2 will be the last season where Claire Foy reprises the role of Her Majesty The Queen. The series which has all the bells and whistles of a top production blockbuster movie made waves last year and will look to continue recounting Elizabeth’s early years as Monarch of the United Kingdom.

Erased

Release Date: December 15th

Netflix’s first anime to live-action that came in the form of Death Note earlier in the year didn’t go quite accordingly to plan and Erased looks set to do a much better job on all fronts. Based on the anime series which only aired just last year and the manga before it, this live-action adaptation will take us into the life of Satoru Fujinuma. The premise allows the main character to jump back in time before a life-threatening incident to allow him to stop it.


The Ranch (Season 2 Part 2)

Release Date: December 15th

Love it or hate it, you can’t deny the massive audience that The Ranch has. The Ashton Kutcher sitcom is back for their second outing in 2017 with part 1 releasing earlier in the year. Expect some Christmas themed episodes given it’s landing in December and you also won’t  have a long wait after as the series will certainly get renewed.


Trollhunters (Season 2)

Release Date: December 15th

Trollhunters Netflix Season

Dreamworks biggest Netflix project is returning in December with its second season. The series comes from the mind of Guillermo del Toro known for his work on Pacific Rim, Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy. The series features an updated cast due to the passing of its lead, Anton Yelchin.


Wormwood (Documentary Series)

Release Date: December 15th

Wormwood

This six-part miniseries had its first teaser dropped back in August and has been relatively quiet since. Errol Morris is behind the series where it seeks to tell us an untold story of how a combination of the CIA, LSD experiments and mind control let to the death of a family man.


Bright (Movie)

Release Date: December 22nd

Bright Netflix DecemberNetflix has really stepped up its movie game in 2017. First came OKJA, Netflix’s big summer movie and this Christmas they’ll be bringing their Will Smith epic, Bright to Netflix. The Bad Boys meets a fantasy world truly looks unique and an absolute blast to watch. The film is set in a world where Humans, Orcs and Elves live together with limited success.
