New Marvel movies are heading to Netflix throughout the rest of 2018 and into 2019 as part of the Disney agreement with Netflix. This list will include all the remaining Marvel movies coming to Netflix in the United States and Canada.
Here’s a quick list of the Marvel movies that have come to Netflix thanks to the agreement with Disney that started back in 2016:
- Captain America: Civil War
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2
- Doctor Strange
- Thor: Ragnarok
Unfortunately, Disney is opting for all future Marvel movies released after and most likely all the previous MCU movies to go onto its new streaming platform due for release in 2019. Older Marvel movies may cycle on and off Netflix and to our knowledge, Netflix in Canada will continue to receive new MCU releases going forward too.
It’s also worth noting that once these Marvel movies drop on Netflix they’ll only be available for a year and a half. We’re tracking all the Marvel movies leaving Netflix in our list of Disney titles leaving Netflix.
Here are three remaining Marvel movies coming to Netflix:
Black Panther
Released in Theatres: February 16th, 2018
Netflix Actual Release Date: September 4th, 2018
The first Marvel movie to release in theatres of 2018 is the first and next Marvel movie dropping on Netflix. Although first introduced in Captain America: Civil War, this is the Black Panthers origin story. It takes us to Wakanda to give us an insight into how their society operates under the radar using advanced technology.
Avengers: Infinity War
Released in Theatres: April 27th, 2018
Expected Netflix Release Date: December 2018
The biggest crossover in movie history is thankfully heading to Netflix as the penultimate Marvel addition. The series pits all of the MCU characters introduced so far against the biggest threat yet, Thanos.
The movie also perfectly sets up the Captain Marvel movie although because her movie debut is in March 2019, it won’t be coming to Netflix.
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Released in theatres: July 6th, 2018
Expected Netflix Release Date: March to April 2019
Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the final movie from Marvel coming to Netflix as part of the agreement. As we must stress, older Marvel movies may come to Netflix but will be dealt with on a movie by movie basis.
This is Ant-Man’s second solo appearance. His first appearance release just shortly before the Disney contract came into place so naturally, hasn’t ever streamed on Netflix in the US.
What about Spider-Man: Homecoming?
As we’ve discussed before, Spider-man is still owned by Sony who distributes the movie and as a result, is excluded from the Disney contract.
