It’s incredible to think we’re already halfway through 2019. We’ve already seen plenty of fantastic anime this year but June will see our biggest haul of anime thus far! It’s an exciting time for anime fans on Netflix so let’s get to it here are all the anime coming to Netflix in June 2019.

A Silent Voice (2016)
Release Date: June 5th

Arguably out of all the titles in this list for the month of June, A Silent Voice is the most critically acclaimed. Based on the manga of the same name A Silent Voice has a beautiful story that anyone can enjoy. A real slice of life experience sit back, relax and enjoy one of the best anime films from the past 10 years.
The Plot
After almost committing suicide teenager Shoya Ishida reflects on his life’s journey and what led him to this moment. Looking back on his time in grade school, Shoya was a tormentor of a fellow classmate Shoko Nishimiya who is deaf. After getting in trouble for bullying, Shoya’s friends turned on him and ultimately became the victim of bullying himself once Shoko left the school. Determined to right his wrongs Shoya seeks out Shoko to offer his forgiveness in the hope of redemption.
Kakegurui (Season 2) Netflix Original

The first season of Kakegurui while bizarre was certainly one of the most popular to arrive on Netflix in 2018. Now the gambling anime is back for another hand, the chips are down and expect even more chaos at Hykakkaou Academy.
The Plot
In the private academy of Hykakkaou, it isn’t your athletic ability or your academic skills that gets you to the top of the school. It’s your skill to read your opponent and to destroy them in a game of Poker or Black Jack. When newcomer Yumeko Jabami arrives at the school she shakes the very foundations of it to its core after as she teaches the students what it means to be a real gambler.
Aggretsuko (Season 2) Netflix Original

The loveable Red Panda has been one of the most popular anime characters in recent years. As the Panda of the people, there are many out in the world (especially in offices) that probably feel like going to a karaoke bar and blast out some death metal. With her return, we’re expecting many anime fans to flock to the series once again.
The Plot
Another day and another dollar for 25-year-old Red-Panda Retsuko. Her modesty and diminutiveness lead to her being exploited by her lazy colleagues and whether it be sexist and misogynistic remarks by her boss and being annoyed by her condescending co-workers Retusko has a unique way of relieving her stress… singing death metal at her local Karaoke bar.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Season 1) Netflix Original

One of the most influential mecha anime of the 90s, Netflix’s acquisition of Neon Genesis Evangelion was massive for the streaming giants. With a brand new voice cast and HD remaster expect Neon Genesis Evangelion to be even more beautiful.
The Plot
In the year 2015, the world is on the cusp of destruction after the ‘Second Impact’ brings a global cataclysm. The life Shinji Ikari changes forever as after he is summoned to Tokyo by his father. Shinji’s father Gendou is the head of Nerv, an organization that utilizes the mechas known as Evangelions to battle the invading alien force. Shinji is taken into the very depths of Nerv and is granted a new destiny as he pilots Evangelion Unit-01, with that fate of the world on his and Nerv shoulder’s they must unite together to save the Earth.
The End of Evangelion (1997)

Genre: Sci-Fi, Drama
The End of Evangelion doesn’t serve as a sequel to the series Neon Genesis Evangelion, rather it served as an alternate ending to the story. The film isn’t receiving the Netflix Original treatment as far as we are aware but Netflix acquiring the film could indicate otherwise.

EVANGELION: DEATH (TRUE)² (1997)
Release Date: 21st June
Runtime: 101 Minutes
Genre: Sci-Fi, Drama
Prior to the release of The End of Evangelion the franchise had a film that consisted of footage from both the series and from the film. Two-thirds of Evangelion: Death (True)² supercuts footage from episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion while the remainder of the film makes up for the first act of The End of Evangelion.

Forest of Piano (Season 2) Netflix Original
Release Date: 24th June
Seasons: 1 | Episodes: 12
Genre: Drama, Slice of Life
2018 was a fantastic year for anime titles on Netflix. Landing in the latter half of the year, Forest of Piano was nothing short of excellent. Despite the CG animation used throughout the Piano playing series, it did not fail to impress.
The Plot
The series follows two young boys, the prodigy Kai Inchinose and piano student Shuhei Amamiya. Kai lives in the red light district but escapes from his home at night to play piano in the middle of the forest at night. After being picked on by bullies Shuhei is dared to go into the forest play music on the abandoned piano, where he meets Kai and they soon become friends.
Kai is the only one able to play on the abandoned Piano, impressed by his ability Shuhei asks him to take Piano lessons. Kai is resistant to taking lessons to refine his technique even after earning the respect of Shuhei’s teacher former Master Pianist Sosuke Ajino. It isn’t until Kai hears Sosuke play a piece of music from Chopin that he can’t play himself he finally gives in.
7Seeds (Season 1) Netflix Original
Release Date: 28th June
Seasons: 1 | Episodes: TBC
Genre: Drama, Slice of Life
The serialization of the manga lasted from 2001 to 2017 and only now in 2019 are we receiving the very first anime adaptation. Netflix is certainly stepping up its anime game and we’re certainly expecting 7seeds to be one the most enjoyable anime of 2019.
The Plot
In the not too distant future, the world has a cataclysmic event that has seen all life on earth wiped off the face of the planet. Having foreseen this potential outcome the government selected 5 sets of seven young men and women and placed them into cryogenic sleep. Upon awakening, the remaining humans are placed into teams and thrust into the harsh new world.
