At any given time, Netflix has over 100 shows that are set to return for additional seasons. Among the current roster of renewed shows, quite a few are coming to an end with their forthcoming season. Here’s a rundown of just some of the shows returning for their final season.

For the full list of upcoming renewed shows at Netflix, check out our renewals guide here, which features over 100 titles set to return for additional seasons.

Without further ado, here’s a look through 13 Netflix shows that will be bowing out in the coming year or two:

Stranger Things (Season 5)

We have to start with Netflix’s biggest flagship show (or arguably third biggest mixed in with Wednesday and Squid Game) in the form of Stranger Things.

Of course, we’ve still got a while to wait for the fifth season of the show, with production taking place all throughout 2024, meaning it’ll likely not hit our screens until 2025, but from everything we’ve heard, the show is going to be going out with a giant bang.

Despite Stranger Things coming to an end, that doesn’t mean we’re done with the world of Stranger Things by any stretch. As you may have heard, Netflix is rapidly expanding the universe with the already-released prequel stageplay and various spin-offs in the works.

The Umbrella Academy (Season 4)

The next biggest show, soon to be coming to an end, is the superhero show The Umbrella Academy, starring Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Robert Sheehan.

Of the main English titles on the list, this is one we’ll be seeing the fastest, given that production finished on the fourth season of the show last year and has already been confirmed for release at some point in 2024.

Like Stranger Things, there have been rumors of a spin-off to The Umbrella Academy (specifically for The Sparrows), but at this time, nothing is greenlit. That said, the showrunner of The Umbrella Academy already has a couple of other projects in the works at the streamer, so there’s at least something to look forward to beyond season 4.

Cobra Kai (Season 6)

Saved from YouTube Red, Cobra Kai found a loving global audience at Netflix but will be coming to an end with its high anticipated sixth season.

Much like The Umbrella Academy, there have been rumors of a spin-off for Cobra Kai with a Miyagi prequel series, but just like TUA, nothing concrete is in place right now. All that said, the world of The Karate Kid is continuing at Sony Pictures with a new movie in the works.

That said, the trio behind Cobra Kai recently debuted their new show Obliterated on Netflix, which is currently awaiting a season 2 renewal.

Vikings: Valhalla (Season 3)

Another big show returning for its final season in 2024 is the historical drama series Vikings: Valhalla. The show was given a huge upfront order of three seasons way back in 2021, with seasons 1 and 2 dropping in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Not too much is known about the third season’s plot just yet, but it promises to be a banger, given the bloodshed that occurred in the final moments of season 2.

Season 3 of Vikings: Valhalla is confirmed to arrive on Netflix in 2024.

Sweet Tooth (Season 3)

Also bowing out with its third season is Sweet Tooth, which shot season 3 back-to-back with season 2 and is expected to drop at some point in 2024.

The criminally underrated comic-book adaptation has followed Gus as he searches far and wide for his mother with the help of Tommy Jepperd.

You (Season 5)

Another rescued show at Netflix that will be coming to an end with its new season is You, which Netflix picked up from Lifetime and made it a global sensation.

Frankly, the fact that Joe has managed to get to season 5 is a miracle all in itself, so will he finally be caught? We’ll soon find out. Filming begins in Spring 2024, with a likely very late 2024 or early 2025 release date expected.

Mo (Season 2)

Moving over to comedy, we come to the A24-produced series Mo starring Mo Amer, which he co-created with Ramy Youssef. Although the show wasn’t a big ratings driver for Netflix, it did scoop several awards. Given the subject matter covered, it shouldn’t be surprising its second pertinent season will be highly anticipated.

Filming gets underway on the final season in early to mid-2024, with the show expected to return either late this year or early next year.

Big Mouth (Season 8)

Eclipsing the record previously set by Bojack Horseman, Big Mouth will be bowing out with its eighth season. The coming-of-age animated sitcom has become one of Netflix’s biggest, even if it’s not quite well respected like some of the other shows in Netflix’s animated roster.

Of course, the flagship series has also outlived its spin-off series, Human Resources, which concluded with its second season.

International Netflix Shows Returning for Final Seasons

Those are the big English-language shows coming back for final seasons, but what about Netflix’s international slate? All of these shows have been announced to be coming back for final seasons:

  • Back to 15 (Season 3) – The comedy from Brazil will bow out with its forthcoming third season.
  • Elite (Season 8) – On the air since 2018, Netflix’s record-breaking crime teen drama series from Spain will (finally) conclude with its eighth season.
  • Good Morning, Verônica (Season 3) – From Brazil, this crime drama will debut its final season in mid-February 2024.
  • The Mire (Season 3) – This Polish thriller will conclude with its final season in late February 2024.
  • Young Royals (Season 3) – The final season of the Swedish coming-of-age drama that swept the world will debut in March 2024.
